Snorkeling and Diving Adventures in Pulau Payar from Langkawi

The operation run by the local agent is a scam. Three days before the trip they called us to say Pulau Payar is closed for maintenance. They offered another alternative trip which costs more and wanted me to transfer the difference directly into their account. "U need top up more rm280 for the tour Include Private hotel transfer Private boat tour (speedboat) Tour guide Snorkeling gear Packed lunch Picnic on beach Total duration approx 5-6 hours" the boatman brought us to a nearby island where we fed some fish and there are practically no corals to see. After that he claims there are no other venues to snorkel. .when asked what else is there to see & do he said that there is nothing much to do except to bring us to some beach to swim. I felt frustrated and told him to bring us back in less than an hour. Fellow travellers: do not agree to this. do not transfer money directly into their account. better to ask for a refund from Klook. if you get this story.

I chat with costumer service on 23/12/20 about availability of this package going to Pulau Payar on 24/12/20 and record the chat. Person that entertain me confirm that this package is available on 24/12/20.island is open and boat is going. Even I told him, other company I call or mssg said no boat to Pulau Payar on that day.He said he already check and the trip is available on 24/12/20.End up when I booked and make a payment.I receive a mssg from subcompany said Pulau Payar is not available and they offer me private boat to Pulau Dengil with price same like platform package in Pulau Payar rm640 for two.Person that mssg me share pictures with many type fish at that pulau beach. End up not really many fish,only two type and water is not clear.. I so not happy with this app costume service lying to costumer.

Highly recommended. The platform snorkelling package provide a more family friendly environment with attentive staff to help you and your kids around.

Pickup at the hotel was smooth and overall well organized. They advised to get snack for ourself & fishes (make sure you do if you want to see lots of fishes swarming towards you) before boarding the ferry since there is no shops on the pulau. The guide was very friendly and the food buffet was okay and plentiful choices available (rice/ western/ fruits/ light desserts). Platform experience is recommended if you have older people joining, they can sit by the platform and still enjoy the view/fishes. Will recommend!

The bus was clean and the driver came on time. The beach was clean and there are many fish and baby shark. The staff brought us to the platform too so that we could see various fish. It was really nice!! No good shower tho. Overall good.

We did not have information about pickup time until late night of the previous day even though calling Klook assistant a couple of times. The tour itself was good enough. Pickup on time, a lot of fish, excellent lunch.

Overall experience was good. In terms of itinerary, everything was well organised and executed. The activities included were fun and we got to see the corals and fishes, including baby sharks. Despite the corals are tad less attractive, we actually got a nice view of the underwater life. Equipment such as life jacket and snorkelling mask were provided however you’re advised to bring your own snorkelling mask due to hygiene reason. The buffet lunch was so-so, nothing fancy to be expected but the food variety and portion were generous. A quite old ferry took us from the jetty to the platform and the journey was about 1 hour 15 minutes. The staffs were super friendly and this really lit up the whole experience. Thumbs up!

Good service. Very responsive. Snorkeling was a fun experience, with variety of fish. Goggles with prescription available at extra charge. Advisable to bring your own snorkelling shoes.

This trip was completely terrible, tour management people unprofessional they never give any kind of instruction, or information, it just like they pick up from hotel and throw into pulau payar,, they even never give us snorkelling ? gear ,,, after long time we went to them and ask they said we forgot to give you ,, they give long ago other tour company ,,food was completely disappointed ☹️. ,,, tour provide people not friendly, completely waste of money with this tour company But place is very nice , must try but not with this tour. Company..

Good activity with enough time to do proper snorkelling from the platform and also spend some time on the beach. unfortunately the water wasn't very clear but i managed to find some spots where i could still see corals and different kinds of fish. lunch was generous but nothing special.

everything about this was above awesome except the food..we had buffet and food was really bad but desserts and salads were fine. scuba , snorkeling, shark feeding, is a must

Pros: Lot of big fishes, Black tip sharks Cons: Dead corals, very choppy waters, long travel time, pricey. Not worth the long travelling time and the price. Will not return.

Not too bad. Journey from Kuah jetty to Pulau payar took abt an hour. Time spent in Pulau paya for snorkelling , lunch and sunbathing at the sandy beach. Shark feeding was too short and only 2-3 sharks came, was expecting more than 5 sharks. Overall not a bad experience

Not worth to spend two hours traveling time to come here. The view is not attractive. Didn’t see much fish but a lot of carols. The life jacket doesn’t include buckle below so it keeps float up. Lots of my friend were scratched because the water is not deep. Besides the food is unacceptable as other reviews mentioned, taste weird.

didnt received any email for pick up, so i whatapps to request. CS sent me info n asked me to double check my email acc. I finally received at 7am on the day of departure. the place we gathered at the beach is really crowd. next time will consider the platform or other expensive package / option. the packed lunch... read the reviewed aldy, chicken is most delicious, rice ok, the worst is the fries....

Rubbish customer service. Klook emailed a attached confirmation voucher in very small print that asked for passports copies to be emailed dateline 1800 hrs the day before trip. On the day before trip at 9 a.m, I called the local number provided by Klook to confirm the travel arrangement but nobody pick up the call. Then I emailed Klook customer support. At 5.35 pm Klook reply the local operator was supposed to contact me day before for pick up arrangement. At 635 pm the local operator emailed saying my tour was cancelled for failing to provide passports copies in time. I then made first contact through the phone number give in the cancellation email. I was asked to pay for additional express insurance subject to successful processing by 8 am or pay additional 200 per pax x 4 pax for date change. The excuse given for their failure to contact as stated in voucher is??? "Private Data Act" . My wife successfully bought the same tour online after I told her of the cancellation. Now Klook won't refund money paid even though their local operator failed to contact me for missing passports copy the day before trip.

well managed from pick up to drop. lots of fishes at the shore so even if you don't know to swim you can see the fishes.. make sure to buy the fish food at 5 RM to feed the fishes. you can buy them at the beach itself.. awesome experience.. but the snorkeling gear was not that good IMHO..

It departs at more than eight in the morning, it is eleven when it arrives, and you can play until three in the afternoon. First time snorkeling, I really saw a lot of fish and it was great.

Guides were quite friendly and food wasn't as bad as the other reviews mentioned. The fried rice and fried chicken were acceptable, but fries were soggy. We also had cold iced lemon can drink and a bottle of plain water. We saw some fishes and spotted two baby sharks, but the water for beach snorkeling was near the shore so it was a bit difficult to move around without touching the corals (which may hurt your feet). The corals are all grey and dead. The water was quite clear the day we went.

Awesome experience, though I recommend not doing this during the weekend. The large influx of guests when we went on Saturday made for quite the hectic experience. So many fish, and beautiful corals!

Shark baby is cute

Come alone, I thought it would be boring, but the team leader took special care of it. It was well worth seeing the shark baby!

Arrangement from hotel pick-up to snorkeling activities till back to hotel is acceptable, except lunch box provided can b improved in someway. Overall trip is still worth visiting and enjoyable! ?

Great trip snorkeling. About 2hr from Pantai Cenang to the island itself (from kuah jetty take a ferry over). Will be picked up by a coach so pls take note, was only told of the pickup time but not who to look out for so I thought klook can improve on this. Clear waters, managed to see baby shark. Toilet is extremely dirty... Don't expect world class lunch but it's sufficient for me, just fried rice, chicken, fries and orange, with bottled water and ice lemon tea canned.

I had an extremely terrible experience because Klook and the company they liaised with were extremely inflexible and not understanding. This is my first time using Klook and I will not use again. They did not process the documents of one of my friends because my friend sent it to another of their emails. They only told us of it 2hrs before the deadline so we were unable to react in time. As a result, we could not go for the event that cost us $107 and when we asked for a refund, they were adamant on not giving us our money back. Please beware of booking with Klook and this company as they are terrible at service and are not helpful whatsoever in understanding your situation or helping you get your money back if things go wrong.

The the island was beautiful with gorgeous views. Lunch was acceptable. Service of staff was wonderful. They fed fish to attract them to come closer to us. We even saw baby shark!! The water was not clear as expected. Overall it's a good and worthy experience.

A place must visit, friendly crew and staff, beatiful beach with fantastic scenery. good experince of snorkeling with tropical fish swims around you. As an advntage, bring along bread to feed the fishes and if you are lucky you will see baby shark swimming around your feet. My kids love it a lot.

Purchased Platform snorkelling for 3 adults and 2 children but Klook agent mistakenly allocate ticket for Beach snorkelling. When I ask the Klook agent to pay the difference, he didn’t take any responsibility for his mistake and informed me that the promotion rebate RM 250 that I earned not qualified anymore and the differences will be determined by Klook.

There are a lot of fishes. However, I was a bit disappointed as the area for snorkelling is very confined and no coral could be seen. Some people didn’t know how to properly wear snorkelling mask and life jacket. They just fed the fishes near the platform.

Worth to come only because we saw many big fishes incl baby sharks! if only sea is clearer will be so perfect! But journey here is a bit long. the road trip fr our hotel + boat. And no proper facilities for bathing n toilet.

The snorkeling activity was good, however the food was so dry and salty?. And the driver dropped us at opposite of our hotel where we need to cross the dangerous main road.

I had to contact the agent to check on details, no briefing given. Pulau Payar not as fascinating, water not clear and corals mostly dead. The only interedting part i guess would be seeing baby sharks near e shore. Not recommended for this price.

- wonderful location - perfect for couples and families for a day picnic - right from hotel pick up till your drop everything was amazing and perfectly timed - lunch served was better than Thai island tours and they had locker facility to keep your belongings safe so that you can enjoy in the water - thank you Klook for making this happen

The sea and the fish are excellent, but the customer service need to improve, basically it can say no service provide. The tour bus would pick you up at your hotel, then drop you down at the pier, there will have a boy to put a paper tag onto your hand for signal your selected tour, then everybody have to walk to the pier to boarding, there around few hundreds of people but no one take care of you, you must walk along with the crowd, once you arrive the boarding deck, there will have another guide to call you to board on your corresponding ferry. You will eventually arrive the beach, and distribute your goggle and playing on the beach. Once the lunch hour, will have lunch box announce. Locker in the beach need around $20.

Beach snorkeling is fun. Can see baby nurse shark lurking around, high chance bitten by fish but its an unforgettable experience. Very interactive. Food is so-so, but overall the trip is worth the money and time.

Paya Island Resort

Specifically, it is not bad. The sea water is clear. Although there are only a few sea fish, there are still a few large-sized toilets. The toilets still need to be upgraded, and the entertainment facilities can be more. This will make you feel value for money.

Although very disappointing that the trip called off last minute due to the bad weather, at least we feeling glad the we got our full refunds. Thank you. Thinking of booking again.

Goodgood is really great and a happy journey with a bit of bread! Feed the fish! There will be a large group of fish around you very, very good, but the toilet is not very clean! Test wearing a swimsuit

Snorkelling happens with Langkawi coral group. The colour full fishes.baby sharks made our day..the corals were although bleached.

Interesting experience

The driver picked us up at the hotel door on time and the schedule was very smooth. If it is the first time to snorkel, it is a very good experience. I can see the fish swimming around. However, the shower equipment on the island is very simple. It is recommended to take a shower and return to the hotel for a shower. In terms of finishing, it is a very satisfying experience!

At the beginning, there was a misunderstanding at the pick-up location, which led to the failure to stay in the bus before the bus, but hotline's customer service operator had the patience to guide how to live before, which is commendable. The snorkeling place is beautiful, the beach water is clear and sandy, and it is a good snorkeling place.

It was great experience. I highly satisfied with dive that I saw many fishes under the sea and I stood on the sea ground. However, Disappointed one thing is pick up service as they didn't notice time before and I have ti wait more than 1hour. If you stay at near the Kuah region, pick up time would be after 8 30 AM. Please refer to this. Personally, I hope manager consider snokeling equipment clearniess I saw somone's sunblock stain. Totally I like this tour.

The guide contacted us right after we paid online, very efficient! There are a lot of fishes on the beach, we enjoyed the trip! Please note that there is no shower facility on the beach, only at the platform.
