Must reserve tickets before the trip in order to secure the seats in the train. Highly recommend to book time slot in the evening for both daylight and sunset view of the autumn leaves!

It's a good decision to buy the ticket one month prior the schedule date in Klook otherwise we won't be able to ride the train.

Sad to say we missed our train ride to Sagano as some unforeseen event happened to us. However we bought new tickets to take the Sagano romantic train and it was awesome and great! Klook ticket is cheaper than buying from the station instead.

I go to Osaka with my girlfriend. We go to sagano train. The atmosphere is very good. We can smell the nature smell and see the good view.

Do rmb to pick up earlier at Kyoto station, I forget to do that then I missed my train

Not to be missed if you are a huge fan of trains and beautiful scenery. My kids were absolutely thrilled riding this old train replica. I loved the view of the flowing river and the swooshing movement of the bamboo trees. Would have been more colorful in the autumn or spring. :)

The train ride was extraordinarily stunning! Autumn was almost ending but we could still see quite a lot of red leaves. I went on the ride with my boyfriend, and we ended up buying a Polaroid the staff took of us. The staff was very friendly as well. Overall, we do recommend people to go on this ride if time allows, even though it’s a bit far away from the city. It’s totally worth it!

Very romantic ride with stunning view. The ticket exchange in the Tokyo JR station took 40 minutes in queue which was unexpected, we almost missed the train.

Splendid view. We went in winter (end December) and it was very windy and cold. Autumn view would be beautiful. By the time we went, most trees were bare already. The river and mountain view were excellent. Exchange your redeemed ticket at your boarding torokko station for a rich car ticket to ride in the open air car. The odd numbered tickets from saga face forward.

The exact place to pick up at JR Kyoto station was extremely difficult to locate, I asked several JR staff and they couldn't assist me. However, once I got to the right place, the redemption was fast and smooth. The sagano train ride was enjoyable, with really beautiful scenery on either side from the train, the train captain stopping the train around 2 times throughout the entire ride so that passengers could take photos of the scenery! (however, given that you could purchase it at the station for 600yen, I don't think $17 was really worth it unless you really, really want to ensure that you have a confirmed seat before going)

It you are traveling during peak season, it’s worth to get your tickets in place. I collected my ticket at the Kyoto station and it’s so convenient.

I highly recommend to join Sagano Romantic Train. You will enjoy wonderful experience. book Ticket (Kyoto Station Pick Up) by klook is very helpful.

although you can buy the tickets at the train station itself, which is only 630 yen and 320 yen for child, the problem is that the tickets may be sold out for the timing you want. buying from klook is expensive but guaranteed tickets for the time you want, so I guess for adults who are flexible in the timing, you can buy at the station itself.. the ride was about 23 mins.. view was great but there are more to explore by walk if you are able to

Beautiful scenic route by locomotive train. Amazingly, you can see red and yellow leaves in early winter. Recommended to join this activity when traveling in Arashiyama, Kyoto.

nice scenic ride but we had quite a time looking fr the central ticketing ctr cos first time in Osaka. klook should provide a map how to go to the ticket place from all directions.

Easy to redeem tickets at Kyoto station. The train ride was pretty good but too short. The saga train station is next to the JR line saga-Arashiyama. A lot of people so try to reach 10mins earlier.

It’s easy to redeem ticket at the ticket counter at kyoto station. With advanced booking, we have the reserved seat.

The tickets price at klook is more expensive than buying on the spot. The ticket redemption at Kyoto Station is easy, the counter is located on your right after the exit from train. I bought 3 tickets and only one ticket was window seat, 2 tickets were walkway seat (c). So remember to check the seat assigned when you redeem the ticket.

The views are truly beautiful and scenic. However, the ticket pick up at the Kyoto station took sometime, around 45 minutes cue.

The collection of pass at Kyoto station was easy but looking for the office was quite a feat. The train ride was ok as the time we went the autumn leaves were already mostly gone so the scenery weren’t that beautiful. If you want to do a single trip. Take from Kameoka station and stop at arashiyama station and walk around the bamboo forest

The train ride was simply amazing as it took us along a journey although short, but with breathtaking views that keep us awe all the time. Would definitely want to do it again the next time we get to Kyoto.

Paid for convenience and security when traveling in group. When collecting our Klook tickets booked for friday noon the day before, the tickets at Kyoto JR station was sold out. Was it worth it? Well, Red leaf was gorgeous, the train does gets up close to scenic views, but be prepared for crowds. Tour commentary is in Japanese only. Taking the train from Saga-Arashiyama means you can take a detour to the Bamboo grove (about an 1 hour) before hopping on Sagano train. JR train to Saga and back from Kameoka is crowded and no seat reservations, but trains are regular & ride back to Kyoto train station is fairly short (20 mins).
